Here are some simple tips that we would like to add to the Beginner's Guide to Becoming a Good Dancer

Tip 1: Be consistent with your dance lessons

Okay, let us be honest. Every aspiring dancer needs to take dance lessons. Even the best dancers take regular classes to stay groovy. Many people believe they can get good at dancing without taking any classes. Well, that’s wrong.

Just like you took classes to excel at school, you need to take online dance classes to become a good dancer.

Tip 2: Find your ray of inspiration

Before you start taking any dance classes, you need to find your inspiration. Whether you are an amateur or have been dancing for a long time, the key to being a good dancer is to want to be a good dancer. Remind yourself why you love to dance so much. You can do this by watching dance videos or talking to your friends about it. Go to dance shows too!

Tip 3: Build a dance studio

Who said to practice dancing, one needs a high-tech studio? You can build a small yet fully functional dance studio at home.

Many people think that just because they take dance lessons, they do not have to practice. Well, that is not true. You might take dance lessons, but you still have to work hard and practice too. You can make room in your living room for a mirror and practice the routine you learned in class today.

Tip 4: Start stretching

Stretching is a crucial part of the dance. Dancers should follow a warm-up routine before they start their dance practice to prevent injury.

To avoid an injury, stretch before you hit the stage. If you dance when your body is stiff,  you might pull a muscle or get injured and have to sit out. Doing some warm-up and stretches will help make sure that doesn’t happen.

Tip 5: Have a goal

Everyone has a goal in their lives, so do dancers. Every aspiring, amateur, or professional dancer works with a motive. In your case, you are new to dancing. Your goal can be to take part in a dance competition.

Tip 6: Listen to the music and move your body

People dance because they feel like it. They might start with tapping their feet to a catchy beat, and then that becomes a dance. To be good at dancing, you need to know how the music makes you feel and express that feeling with your body. For beginners, the most important thing is to get to know the rhythm of the music. You will be more comfortable and enjoy dancing with other people if you have something in common with them.

Tip 7: Look confident

Dancers often make a common mistake. They stare at their feet when they learn a new dance. You might want to do this, but it may not be the best idea because dancing is not about seeing. It’s about feeling. To feel the dance, try and remember how your weight shifts and how you need to move your body in specific directions.

Tip 8: Dance with people

When you start dancing, it is natural to want to dance with your partner or friend. One may or may not feel comfortable dancing with someone else when they are just starting. However, it can be better to dance with different people because this helps you learn. If someone is better at something than you are, it is a chance for you to practice and grow!

Tip 9: Take your time and decide your dance style

With the variety of dance styles available out there, we understand if you feel confused. Which dance style is good, or which is easy and attractive. Dance styles such as Hip-hop, Bollywood, or salsa are easy to learn.

However, try out the dance styles you like and then choose your pick! Don’t take up a dance style under pressure you want to excel right?
